Joint Exhibition

Date: July 30th to September 8th 2022 (Every Tuesday to Saturday 10:00-19:00)

The name of the exhibition Salty or Sweet mainly emphasizes a contrast, colorless and colorful, sorrow and joy. If we analyze it literally, salt and sugar are two inseparable seasonings, just like the bitterness and happiness experienced in life are two sides of the same coin.

The quiet flowers and the small animals full of spirit and spirit are the so-called sweetness, while the calligraphy projected from the experience of life is salty with complex and multi-layered saltiness.

This time, we are honored to invite three artists to experience the daily life of salty or sweet with you.

Huang Chun Chia

Doctor of Fine Arts, has won the first prize in national art exhibitions many times; his calligraphy is unique in content, and he is good at cleverly capturing the colloquial words and phrases of daily life and using design-rich words to bring out the humorous nature of the content, and the neat and beautiful ink lines are matched with words that make people smile. Seal carving is also another way for him to extend the aesthetics of words.

Pinn Su

Graduated with a master’s degree in visual communication from PRATT INSTITUTE, his visual style is influenced by pop art and super flat painting. His works try to deconstruct the themes depicted on the wood board with a large number of lines and multi-layered colors, and re-explore the possibility of color block stacking. He reflects on his life experience and integrates the influence of his oriental culture on himself. He reinterprets and internalizes this process, and his works are the final presentation after understanding the meaning.

Tsai Min Tsan

He was selected for ONE ART TAIPEI 2022 with the New Appreciation Award in 2022. His works on display this time include a series of still lifes and interactions between plants and animals. He skillfully uses simple ink lines to outline lifelike little monsters. From expressions to body language, they are all ingenious, and one can also find clever key colors to embellish the picture, adding another interesting presentation to the established black and white ink.
